Jimmy Fullen has over 35+ years of full-time law enforcement experience protecting and serving our communities. Before announcing his campaign to run for Galveston County Sheriff, Jimmy served as the Republican Elected Constable in Pct. 2 for 14 years. In 2021, Jimmy was appointed by the County Judge as the Lead Coordinator of the Southern Border Taskforce which led the charge in becoming the first non-border county in Texas to send Sheriff and Constable deputies to Kinney County to help stop the free flow of deadly drugs and violent criminals from coming into our communities. As a result, Jimmy personally deployed down to the border over 20+ times leading from the frontlines where he arrested drug traffickers and human smugglers trying to make their into our communities.

UNRIVALED EXPERIENCE
With over 35+ years of full-time law enforcement experience, Jimmy Fullen has worked for numerous county law enforcement agencies from the Texas City Police Department to serving as Chief of Police with the Galveston Independent School District. Fullen graduated from the College of the Mainland Law Enforcement Academy with honors. He currently holds a Master Peace Officers license, Texas Commission of Law Enforcement Instructors license, and instructor certification from the Northwest University Traffic Institute.
In 2021, Judge Mark Henry appointed Jimmy Fullen as the lead coordinator of the Galveston County Border Security Task Force in charge of spearheading the efforts between constable and sheriff deputies being dispatched to assist with Operation Lone Star. Fullen has made over 20+ deployments to the border, where he has served on the frontlines keeping violent criminals and deadly drugs from flowing into our local communities.
A TRUE TEXAN & RESIDENT OF THE REGION
Jimmy Fullen is a 5th generation Texan and lifelong resident of Galveston County with three kids and six grandchildren. He serves on the Board of Directors of the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce and Hitchcock ISD Education Foundation as well as being a founding member of the Santa Fe ISD Education Foundation. Fullen is a longtime sponsor of the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo, along with numerous other charitable organizations including youth athletic programs in Galveston, Hitchcock, League City, and Santa Fe.

Jimmy Fullen will continue the coordination through Operation Lone Star in sending resources to the border to assist in slowing the spread of violent crime and deadly drugs from coming into our county. There’s only one Sheriff’s candidate who has put his life on the frontlines down along our Southern Border - and that’s Jimmy Fullen. He’ll be a Sheriff that leads from the front.
IMPROVE PUBLIC SAFETY
Jimmy Fullen will dedicate additional resources to increase proactive policing on our streets, inside our schools, and within the unincorporated communities of Galveston County. He will also strictly enforce nuisance abatement ordinances and state laws - helping our unincorporated communities clean up the streets. As Sheriff, Jimmy will work directly with regional, state and federal partners to rid our county of violent criminals and deadly drugs we’re seeing on our streets. It’s time for new leadership in the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.
STRONG MORALE & RECRUITMENT
Currently, law enforcement agencies are struggling to recruit and retain quality officers and deputies. Jimmy Fullen will has a comprehensive plan that will adopt new policies, procedures and standards and raise the bar of professional standards amongst the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office while increasing recruitment and retention.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
With the Sheriff’s Office making up the largest portion of Galveston County’s budget, Jimmy Fullen will be mindful of our tax dollars while ensuring our officers have what they need to keep our communities safe. Wasteful spending and unnecessary positions in the Sheriff’s Office will be immediately reallocated to new areas to improve the overall public safety of our county. The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office will no longer be a friends and family employment program like we’ve seen for the past several decades.
